Let’s see... ticket, passport, medication, rats! Forgot my Personal Protection Equipment!
No PPE? No problem! At least not in Vegas. The airport has installed vending machines that eject neat little packages of everything a passenger needs to personally protect themselves while travelling.
LAS says it's the first airport in the world to install a PPE vending machine from which travellers can purchase items like hand sanitizer options, alcohol wipes, a four-pack of disposable gloves and a selection of masks.
The airport has three machines available for pax to stock up: two on either side of the Terminal 1 ticketing area and another near the Terminal 3 TSA checkpoint
"The whole world is going through behavioural modification and learning new habits, so it's not unthinkable that someone could show up at the airport and not have the new necessities that are part of travel," LAS spokesperson Christine Crews told CNN.
"I do believe we are the first in the nation to have these vending machines," she added.
The vending machines – which have "Clean & Safe Travels" written at the top -- look and operate much like a typical snack machine, with rows of products that can be purchased by making a number selection. There are six rows of PPE equipment to choose from, and travellers retrieve purchase at the bottom by pushing in a door labeled "PPE."
But be ready to pay a steep price for any sanitation specialties you buy.
Hand sanitizers cost from US$4.25 to $6.50, said LAS in a tweet. A 10-pack of alcohol wipes is $5.25. The four-pack of disposable gloves is $4.50. A set of three disposable masks is $7.50, and the KN95 mask is $8.25.
A new option to help protect yourself and others while traveling. LAS was the first airport to install PPE vending machines from which travelers can purchase items like gloves and hand sanitizer. These machines can be found in T1 ticketing and near the T3 TSA checkpoint. pic.twitter.com/1suaVel412
