Disney, whose stated mission it is to make people happy, is the epicentre of giggles and fairy dust. A place where dreams come true.
But for some people, no place is safe.
A Georgia woman was found trying to enter Walt Disney World with two loaded guns -- a .45-caliber and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun hidden in her child's diaper bag,Daily Mailreports.
There was also a bag of marijuana mixed in with the diapers - possibly to take the edge off having two packed pistols next to her baby.
The arrest report said Yunique Smith, 27, was attempting to enter Epcot Center with an adult male and their two children, a seven-year-old boy and seven-month-old girl.
Police said Smith admitted the guns and the weed in the diaper bag belonged to her, according to Daily Mail. Authorities said Smith does not have a concealed weapon permit.
She was arrested and charged for three misdemeanors: two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis.
The incident took place just three days after the park reopened after a long closure due to the pandemic. The Florida theme park began a phased reopening with heightened coronavirus safety measures - including mandatory mask-wearing - on 11JUL. Epcot Center reopened for park goers on 15JUL.
No official reason was give for attempting to smuggle a semi-automatic to the land of marshmallows and ice cream. But if large rodents aren’t your cup of tea, Open Jaw suggests staying away from Disney.
