What Would You Do With Your Very Own Carnival Cruise Ship?

Carnival fans – or just folks with more money than they know what to do with – can bid on the line's iconic Holiday ship, which boasts the legacy of being second oldest former Carnival ship still in existence, ThePointsGuy reports.

The 1,452-cabin Holiday, which was first unveiled in 1985 when Carnival was barely a decade old, most recently operated as Magellan under British line Cruise & Maritime Voyages. Since CMV's collapse in JUL, the company is auctioning off the five ships currently in its fleet.

At 46,052 tons, it's significantly smaller than many of Carnival's current ships, but Holiday still shares some of the same design elements found on the brand's newer vessels — it even features the iconic "Whale-Tail" funnel that is perhaps the best-known marker of a Carnival ship.

For Carnival lovers, that funnel is the emblem of fun. And to own it... Well, it doesn’t get any better than that. Take the family for a Caribbean spin. Have a few friends over for a buffet on the lido deck. Get the kids to put on a show. No worries about keeping your deck chair. No line ups. Sounds like fun ship heaven!

Holiday isn’t the only CMV ship coming up for auction. Vasco da Gama, which long sailed as Holland America’s Statendam, and Columbus, which once sailed as Princess Cruises’ Star Princess, are also up for grabs. The other two ships up for auction are Marco Polo and Astor.

CW Kellock & Co, the ship auctioneer and broker handling the CMV sale, has not posted a pre-auction price estimate for the ship, but TPG says the final selling price is likely to be in the millions of dollars.
