Pax Kicked Off Flight For Jabbing Snoring Seatmate With A Pen
Now if it was your spouse you might be excused for administering a little
elbow when the snoring gets too loud. But jabbing a snoring stranger with a
pen? Only in today's volatile in-flight environment it would seem.
A female passenger was kicked off a WN flight this week after repeatedly
jabbing a fellow passenger with a pen, apparently irked by his snoring – before
the flight had even taken off.
The incident happened as WN577 was on the runway at MDW ready to take off for
MHT. "A passenger was removed from the flight for poking her seatmate with
a pen to stop him from snoring," Southwest said in a statement.
The victim, Lenny Mordarski, says he suddenly awoke in pain after being stabbed
by a pen several times. "Imagine being asleep and then being stung by bees
and waking up and going, 'Ow,'" Mordarski told the media after touching
down 2 hours late in Manchester.
Mordaski's friend Michael Sutton said he heard no snoring and the woman
completely overeacted. "I guess his arm kind of brushed over to her and she
just went nuts and started stabbing with her pen," Sutton said.
