It was an early start on day two for the 136 travel agents on the #ACVDreamMakers Mega FAM to Costa Rica, as they woke up to the sights and sounds of the jungle at Dreams Las Mareas and checked out and hit the road for a full day of site inspections.
Dreams Las Mareas
Clearly, the five-star Dreams Las Mareas was a big hit with agents. Contemporary in design yet still able to ooze authentic Costa Rican charm, the property provided a great introduction to ACV’s eclectic resort collection in Liberia.
“I really like it,” explained Kelly Burns of TPI - Kelly’s Travel and Tours. “It has a great feel and I would send honeymooners and middle aged couples here.”

Ami Hisanaga of Centre Holidays was a big fan too: “I love the atmosphere; it’s very luxurious. There’s entertainment, so people are having fun, but you can get away from it if you want to. And even though it’s secluded it still has a disco if you wanted to dance. And the fact you can take a day-trip to Nicaragua from the resort, that’s another definite plus.”
Next up was the gloriously secluded five-star Secrets Papagayo Resort & Spa, which ACV’s sales general manager for Western Canada, Marigold Frontuna, described as the perfect place for “someone who just wants to be spoiled”—and on a thorough site inspection, we got to see exactly why.
“I just love it,” added Ami Hisanaga. “It’s a perfect honeymoon destination. It’s secluded and you have your own bungalow and even if you’re in the lead-in category, it’s still great. The honeymoon suite was stunning—imagine just sitting there in the tub and looking out at that view!—but even if you can’t afford that, the deluxe category is worth it.”

That evening the travel agents checked into a range of different properties, including the five-star Westin Playa Conchal Golf Resort & Spa, and enjoyed some precious free time. At the Westin, our happy group wasted no time getting to know each other and getting to grips with the service and hospitality on offer at the property’s cozy Imperial Bar.
