B.C. Wildfires Continue To Impact Rocky Mountaineer

The ongoing wildfire situation in British Columbia is continuing to impact some routes offered by luxury rail operator Rocky Mountaineer.

The company says that due to wildfires in the Cariboo area, departures on the ‘Rainforest to Gold Rush’ route have been affected.

“We have put in place alternative plans for guests travelling on this route that involved travelling by both motor coach and train,” the company says in a message to travel partners.

The schedules for the trains travelling via Kamloops on ‘First Passage to the West’ (between Vancouver and Lake Louise/Banff) and ‘Journey through the Clouds’ (between Vancouver and Jasper) are not affected. However, Rocky Mountaineer says that due to hazy skies in some areas, the visibility of scenery and air quality may be impacted at some points along the journey.

“The wildfire situation in B.C. is unstable and we continue to monitor it closely to determine if it will affect the schedule for other departures,” Rocky Mountaineer states.

The company is keeping agents and guests up to date with the latest information posted here. We post updates at www.rockymountaineer.com/alert and invite you to bookmark this page to check back as needed for the latest information.
