In a statement sent out on 22MAY, Hola Sun provided an update regarding the flights and passengers affected by Cubana Airlines’ recent suspension of operations following the incident outside HAV on 18MAY.

According to the statement, passengers departing from YYZ who were affected by flight delays that exceeded 24 hours were given the option to cancel their trips with full refunds. Those who had purchased packages and were already in destination were accommodated in hotels, free of charge.

The last affected northbound flight, originally scheduled to depart HOG on 20MAY, returned the night of 22MAY. The last affected southbound flight, originally scheduled to depart for HAV on 20MAY, also departed the evening of 22MAY.

It was also noted that “due to operational reasons, Cubana has cancelled the previously schedule flights for 24-27MAY” but are working to “resume our flight itineraries at the earliest possible date.”

“Hola Sun Holidays is deeply sorry for any inconvenience, as our passengers are always our first priority.”
