Club Med has unveiled its new flagship resort in Italy – Club Med Cefalù – the company’s first Exclusive Collection resort in Europe, which reopened its door to the public on 10JUN following extensive renovations.

“Standing alongside Sicilian-elected representatives and our partners in Italy and around the world, I am particularly happy to celebrate the rebirth of Club Med Cefalù, the first of its kind in Europe,” said Henri Giscard d’Estaing, president of Club Med. “With nearly 90 million Euros invested in this project, and a growing economic impact on the region and its surrounding areas, we are incredibly proud to highlight Italy’s heritage and bring cultural inspiration to our new, premium resort. This investment is a milestone in our continued efforts to solidify our position as a world leader in upscale, all-inclusive vacations.”

Originally introduced in 1957, the resort has since undergone major renovations for a complete transformation. Located on Sicily’s northern coast, it offers a view across the bay and over the historic town of Cefalù, which is ust a short walk from the resort. Open 10 months a year (from March to early January), it is located 90 minutes from Palermo airport.

“Particularly suitable for active couples, groups of friends and families with children over eight,” according to a statement from the company, the resort offers a range of land and water activities, including stand-up paddle boarding and, for the first time at a Club Med resort, electric surfboard. Other highlights of the resort include: the Carita Spa, Sicily’s first natural swimming pool, gourmet cuisine from three restaurants, and personalized services such as champagne offered in the evening and a 24/7 concierge.
