Club Med’s executive committee, including 11 members representing worldwide markets, gathered in Montréal last week for their quarterly meeting to unveil advancements in the brand’s business developments and global strategy. Amongst these announcements, the company revealed the name of Canada’s first-ever Club Med Village: Club Med Québec Charlevoix, which is set to open in DEC 2020.

“On behalf of the entire Club Med team, I’m delighted to welcome Canada in to our product portfolio,” saidHenri Giscard d’Estaingpresident of Club Med. “In naming Club Med Québec Charlevoix we wanted to not only shine a light on the province of Québec but the incredible region of Charlevoix itself and contribute to its worldwide influence. We are proud to expand our presence to this exceptional area, home to breathtaking landscapes, fine cuisine and thrilling ski areas.”

According to the company, they aim to open five new resorts per year – among them Arcs Panorama (France) in DEC 2018 and Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda (Dominican Republic) in DEC 2019 – and that it also has plans to execute major renovations to its current resorts to offer “new and refreshed experiences.”

With 42,000 Canadian travellers to Club Med in 2017, Canada is clearly a sizeable market for the company. It is expected these numbers will increase leading up to the launch of Club Med Québec Charlevoix, which will be the first-ever four-season Club Med Village.
