Sunwing says it is making it easier for residents of Southwestern Ontario to head south this winter with the addition of flight services from Detroit Metropolitan Airport for the first time ever.

Starting 20JAN until 22APR, travellers can book select vacation packages to Punta Cana and Montego Bay with weekly direct flights from Detroit. Flights to PUJ will operate on Sundays, while flights to MBJ will operate twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

“We are excited to offer Canadians more convenient ways to travel south this winter with the addition of the new departure airport in Detroit, Michigan,” says Andrew Dawson, President of Tour Operations for Sunwing Travel Group. “This route is a great addition to the current weekly flight service out of London and Windsor and offers travellers in Southwestern Ontario a wider selection of vacation options.”

Travellers can choose from a number of vacation packages, priced in Canadian dollars, from Detroit to resorts in PUJ, including the family-friendly Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa.

In Montego Bay, travellers can choose from a number of beachfront resorts on Jamaica’s famous white-sand beaches. The recently-renovated Sensatori Azul Beach Resort Jamaica  is located on the sparkling shores of legendary Seven Mile Beach in Negril and ideal for both family-friendly vacations and romantic getaways.

Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resorts and Spa is another beautiful resort in Runaway Bay that’s home to a state-of-the-art spa, fitness facilities including yoga classes and diverse dining options.
