The former Grenadian by Rex resort in Grenada, now owned by Sunwing Travel Group and branded as a Starfish Resort, will close in APR for a major refurbishment and reopen in DEC as the all-inclusive Royalton Grenada.

"We will renovate the entire property and add another 60 rooms to bring the total inventory to 300 rooms," said Stephen Hunter, CEO of the Sunwing Travel Group, whose affiliate Blue Diamond Resorts operates the Royalton Resorts brand.

The new Royalton will feature a spa, eight restaurants, keyless room entry, unlimited reservation-free dining and a health and wellness program. Guests will be able to opt to upgrade to Diamond Club accommodations with butler service.

Royalton currently has properties in Antigua, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and St. Lucia as well as Mexico.
