John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport has seen impressive growth over the past two years, more than doubling its passenger traffic since 2016.

Last year 725,630 passengers travelled through YHM, representing a 21% growth over 2017 and a 118% growth in just two years compared to 333,368 passengers in 2016.

The airport is holding out a positive outlook for passenger traffic in 2019. With new daily direct service from YHM to DUB beginning in MAR, increased Swoop flight service domestically and internationally, and seasonal vacation packages offerings departing from Hamilton, the airport is expecting the growth to continue throughout the year.

Beyond seeing strong passenger volume, Hamilton International also continues to be Canada’s largest overnight express cargo airport. In 2018 cargo volume at Hamilton International increased by 5% over 2017 and 20% over 2016. This steady growth confirms that Hamilton International continues to be a global gateway for facilitating goods across Canada and the globe, owing to solid partnerships with Cargojet, DHL, UPS and Purolator.
