Norwegian Air has revealed “a soaring demand” for its new
non-stop flights between Hamilton International Airport to Dublin since the
route debuted on 31MAR. The airline has flown more than 5,000 passengers with
an average load factor of 90% in APR 2019, the first month of operation.
Despite the grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which was
originally scheduled to operate the route and the adjusted frequency of service
as a result, Norwegian is “demonstrating strong growth,” according to a
statement from the company.
“We’re seeing great demand for our newest route, both with
Canadians travelling to Ireland and beyond with us, and Europeans visiting top
tourist destinations of Ontariothat are still relatively new and
undiscovered by them,” said Matthew Wood, senior vice president
of long-haul commercial for Norwegian Air.
The YHM route currently operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
and Sundays. Starting JUL, it will operate three times weekly on the same days
excluding Sunday utilizing a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
