A combination of romance and adventure is offered this winter in Off the Map Travel’s new “Sleep beneath the Stars” program in Swedish Lapland, where two guests stay all alone at a new remote glamping site to experience the Lapland wilderness, perfect for spotting the Northern Lights.

"We’ve created this program for the lovers out there, who are indeed looking for an exclusive program that they can call their own. There’s no light pollution, no noise distractions, and no other participants – it’s, in effect, your own private holiday," said Jonny Cooper, founder of Off the Map Travel.

The trip begins with two nights at the Pine Bay Lodge, a homey red cottage-style lodge on the Luleå archipelago in Northern Sweden.

The itinerary includes dynamic activities include a guided astronomy experience admiring the Northern Lights and constellations and a snowmobiling tour through snowy forests followed by an al fresco lunch with Swedish and Lappish specialties like reindeer and arctic char.

The program also includes a private glamping camp for two where guests stay in a luxurious Arctic yurt, kitted out with a wood-burning stove and an outdoor sauna.

An evening dinner at Aurora Hideaway restaurant on skis includes a three-course Lappish meal, cooked outdoors over birch wood.

Available from 15DEC, 2019 through 15APR, 2020, this itinerary is based on two people travelling and advance booking is required.

While the itinerary can be tailored to each guest, an example five-night, four-day itinerary with Off the Map Travel is priced from US$2,496 per person. Flights are not included.
