Cuba Hosts the 7th Annual Pan American Food And Music Festival

Open Jaw

The Pan American Food and Music Festival will be returning for its seventh annual incarnation at Yonge and Dundas Square on 17AUG and 18AUG, 2019. This family-friendly festival will be a lively celebration of Cuban food and culture and is entirely free for the public.

‘Enjoying a Healthy Lifestyle’ is the theme of the festival with vendors offering a wide variety of craft, novelty items, and Pan American foods. The music of Cuba will be featured throughout the festival as well as the culinary traditions of Cuban cooking.

“We are pleased to announce that Cuba has been chosen as the featured Country for the upcoming festivities,” said Eloy Govea, Director, Cuba Tourist Board. “The designation, coinciding with the highly anticipated 500th anniversary of Havana, is particularly sweet as it will serve as a tremendous opportunity to celebrate and highlight the wonderful culture, music, food and people that help make our island nation so unique!”

Culinary Curator Mary Luz Mejia has elected a line-up of 30 chefs who will showcase easy-to-follow cooking techniques and offer tips on shopping for sustainable ingredients. The festival will also feature new interactive events reflecting this year’s theme.

The festival launches with a private ticketed event on Friday, 16AUG where chefs will showcase the cuisine of Cuba with musical performances at Daniels Spectrum.
