ACV’s New B2B Website Nearly Ready, Cruise Engine Upgrade Complete

Anyone who has ever worked on or waited for a major website project to be completed knows that it’s a challenging process often characterized by missed deadlines.
So Open Jaw checked in with Air Canada Vacations Managing Director Nino Montagnese, who is currently supervising the latter stages of a project to create a new B2B website housing the tour operator’s fast-growing product line. He was upbeat about recent developments.
“We are keeping our trade partners updated weekly on the progress of our B2B website,” Montagnese told Open Jaw. “The bulk of our issues have been with our partners being able to login to the site. We seem to have that fixed as of today.”
Montagnese promises the wait will be worth it. “I can tell you that in the next six months our partners can expect to see a huge improvement in the B2B portal. We are developing an entirely new tool for them which will have much more functionality than any other B2B tool in the market.”
Another step in that process was made yesterday when the operator announced the completion of phase one of the new Revelex Power Agent 5.0 cruise booking engine upgrade.
“This is an important milestone for us,” said Montagnese. “The first phase of implementation focuses on the cruise component of the package. The second phase, coming later in 2019, will allow agents to dynamically book air + cruise together.” Until then, in order to add flights to cruise bookings, agents will need to contact the ACV call centre at 1-877-752-7710.
User-friendly, simple, and fast, the new Revelex Power Agent 5.0 platform allows travel agents to easily search for multiple cruise lines at one time. Travel agents will have access to shop, book and pay in one easy transaction.
Montagnese says users will immediately notice a larger and easier to read booking screen, with pop-up reminders outlining terms and conditions related to rate codes. The new view also includes a right-margin display of the booking steps, and upgrade/downgrade selection buttons.
Effective in early fall, agents will be able to book Fly and Cruise with more confidence thanks to Air Canada Vacations’ NEW Cruise Promise feature: Lowest Airfare. If a lower-priced flight is found with Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge, ACV will pay the entire cost of the flight for all passengers on the cruise booking.
The program also features no deposit required on flights when flight and cruise are booked together up to 30 days before departure. In addition, all flights are 100% refundable, and one name change is permitted up to 30 days prior to travel. Customers even have the ability to earn Aeroplan Miles.
To celebrate the new cruise booking functionality, for a limited time ACV is offering a 5% Bonus Commission when booking any cruise-only or cruise package using the new platform. Bookings are valid between August 28 and September 18, 2019 for travel between August 28, 2019 and December 31, 2020. The 5% Bonus Commission is only applicable on the cruise portion.

When ACV partners first login to the new website, they will be asked to change their password. And the password protocol has changed: the new password should now include the following: 8-20 characters including upper case and lower case, a number, and a symbol. Note that the hash tag # symbol is not accepted.
The Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox browsers will offer the best user experience for the new ACV B2B site.
