AC VP Global Sales John MacLeod Departing For Virgin Australia

Reuters is reporting that Air Canada VP global sales and alliances John MacLeod is leaving the company to become Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Australia.
MacLeod joined AC in 2017 as vice-president, commercial strategy, following a tenure with Virgin America. In 2018, he accepted the new role as VP, global sales and alliances.
MacLeod is moving to an airline that is currently in flux. Virgin Australia Holdings said yesterday that it would cut 750 jobs – nearly 30% of head-office and corporate roles.
It will also merge business divisions and conduct a sweeping review of its operations after swinging to an annual underlying loss due to soft market conditions and higher fuel costs.
