International arrivals to Tobago are up 17.7% between JAN and MAR 2019, according to the destination's tourism board, with a healthy contribution from Canadian travellers, largely due to increased airlift with the new direct Sunwing flight.

This seasonal flight, which flies direct from Toronto to Tobago, starts up again on 19DEC, 2019, and will run until 16APR, 2020.

The Tobago Tourism Agency is now focusing on achieving 25% growth for the remainder of 2019, with a focus on highlighting the uniqueness of the island by promoting 101 Reasons Tobago to international and regional markets.

The destination's unique selling points include eco-adventure offerings such as the Bioluminescence Tours, where clients go paddle boarding with glowing plankton after sundown.
