Amtrak Vacations & Railbookers Launch In Canada, Led By VP Sales Cris David

Yankee Leisure Group (YLG), described as the largest independent rail vacation operator worldwide, has announced the launch of Amtrak Vacations and Railbookers in Canada. Heading up the Canadian push is the newly appointed VP Sales Cris David, well-known to the trade as the former President of Insight Vacations Canada.
Amtrak Vacations and Railbookers say the move north will expand each brand’s global reach to better serve the local travel trade community and an already established consumer base.
With offices in London, United Kingdom; Boston, Massachusetts; Laguna Hills, California; and Sydney, Australia, YLG says it has redefined rail travel to support agents by giving them the ability to book rail up to 24 months in advance, offering ‘excellent’ commission and instant quotes, and advising the best train routes based on a customer’s needs, interests, and budget.
“We are thrilled to launch our Railbookers and Amtrak Vacations brands in the Canadian market and are looking forward to having Cris David as our VP of Sales in Canada to lead the effort,” said Frank Marini, President of Yankee Leisure Group.
Marini says David is a well-known travel executive and sales leader who has served as President of the guided vacation brands Contiki Holidays Canada and Insight Vacations Canada. He has worked closely with agents across the country and is vastly familiar with the industry’s opportunities and challenges as it relates to the travel retail market.
David will educate Canadian travel advisors on the more than 3,000 unique products offered by the two brands in 51 countries and 690 cities. He’ll tell them how the company’s Rail Experts make it easy to build FIT rail vacations, such as pre- or post-river cruise train journeys, multi-country trips, long-distance overnight adventures, and exciting getaways.

From providing ease of access to iconic U.S. cities such as New York City and Los Angeles, treasured national parks, and sought-after destinations in Europe, Australia, Asia, and South Africa, both brands are a one-stop shop for rail, accommodations, activities, transfers, ferries, and inner-city transportation for worldwide rail vacations.
