VIA Rail Canada says it expects most passenger services to gradually resume tomorrow (3MAR) following weeks of interruptions by anti-pipeline blockades.
The popular route between Toronto-Montréal and Toronto-Ottawa is also expected to partially restart.
The Canadian transcontinental pax train will be operating two departures: one on Wednesday, 4MAR, between Toronto-Vancouver and another on Friday, 6MAR, between Vancouver and Toronto. Further departures will be confirmed in the coming days.
All current reservations on those segments will be protected.
Here is a summary of routes in service:
As of 28FEB, 940 trains have been cancelled because of the blockades, according to VIA Rail. More than 164 000 pax have been affected, it says.
