Ensemble Travel Group has shared details on its "proactive communications strategy" to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.

"As a former travel advisor and agency owner himself who has since passed a family business to his own daughter, [CEO David Harris] has a deep and personal understanding of the concerns his members have. To that end, he has been in direct contact with many to reassure them of Ensemble’s commitment to support them during this challenging time," wrote Ensemble in a media statement.

In keeping with Harris’ "Facts over Fear" approach, the consortium says it has provided members with factual resources and tools to keep their clients updated.

This has included weekly CEO updates with the latest information on the impact of the virus, social media posts with current information, trade media coverage, as well as how trade organizations such as ASTA, ACTA, CLIA and others are responding on the industry’s behalf.

Ensemble has also set up a page on its Member Portal with regular updates from the state departments and health organizations for both the U.S. and Canada.

The travel group says it's also working closely with the leadership of ASTA and CLIA to ensure that the industry is aligned in providing a coordinated and responsible response to the situation.

According to the statement, Harris reassures the trade that "the fundamentals of Ensemble’s business remain strong and that the company and the industry are well poised to recover as they have following other global crises."
