Effective immediately, TICO is implementing a 90-day deferral of fees due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 crisis that "continues to place severe financial strain on all registrants," wrote TICO CEO Richard Smart in a registrar bulletin today.
Fees are deferred by three months as follows:
There is no action required by registrants to qualify for the deferral. TICO says it will not accept requests for refunds if a registrant has already remitted fees for a prior period, or for the above periods.
Smart added that renewal applications and Compensation Fund assessments forms must continue to be submitted to TICO on-time, "consistent with required reporting timelines to support continued registration under the Travel Industry Act, 2002."
Registrants are asked to refer to TICO’s website and future Registrar Bulletins for updates, including the timing of future remittances for the above deferrals.
