Air Canada is suspending most international flights until JUN, while Air Transat and Sunwing Airlines Ltd. are cancelling all trips until 31MAY due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision extends the suspension of more than 160 AC routes as well as TS and WG trips by another month as closed borders and a substantial decrease in air travel demand continue to devastate the airline industry.

Air Canada says on its website that it will continue to operate a "domestic and international flights with a reduced schedule" through 31MAY.

These include flights across North America as well as the Atlantic, Pacific, South America, the Caribbean, and Mexico.

"We continue to adapt our schedule and capacity in response to COVID-19 and have postponed launches or extended the temporary suspension of several routes," AC says on its website.

A complete list of Air Canada's operating schedule, route suspensions, temporary airport operation suspensions and upcoming repatriation flights can be found here.

For affected passengers, Air Canada is offering a full credit valid for travel within 24 months of the flight cancellation date.

Similarly, Air Transat is providing a flight credit for travel within 24 months of the original return date.

"These are extraordinary circumstances, when all airlines and travel companies have been forced to temporarily halt or drastically reduce their operations while governments have decided to close their borders. This unprecedented situation is well beyond our control; we believe that the 24-month credit is an acceptable solution, and we are confident that our customers will be able to travel again in the near future, once the crisis passes," noted Air Transat on its website.

Sunwing customers with departure dates between 17MAR and 31MAY are likewise eligible to receive a future travel credit in the value of the original amount paid. This credit can be redeemed against future travel for departures up to 20JUN, 2022 to anywhere Sunwing Airlines operates, according to its website
