Meliá Hotels International is working with certification company Bureau Veritas to ensure that it complies with its standards of health and safety as part of its new "Stay Safe With Meliá" Plan. Bureau Veritas will audit the Meliá Hotels International to ensure that preventative measures are applied appropriately.
The certification process expected to be completed during the month of MAY.
"This certification will meet the needs of the hospitality and F&B industry, and will set health standards in all Meliá hotels," says Meliá. "As a final result, an operational guide will be created to serve as a roadmap for Meliá Hotels International, to rigorously apply the health and safety recommendations of the World Health Organization and the competent authorities of each country."
Meliá says the “Stay Safe with Meliá” program will also appoint a person in each hotel responsible for the “emotional well-being” of guests and verifying compliance with the processes designed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Meliá's new “Stay Safe with Meliá” program outlines health and safety protocols that it hopes to implement at all its properties. It includes:
Post COVID-19 Cleaning and Disinfection Plan endorsed by Diversey, a cleaning and hygiene supplier.
Innovation and technology, including technological solutions to minimize physical contact between customers and employees and also guarantee the safety of facilities and sustainability
Global Post-COVID-19 Operations Guide with all the adaptations to procedures and the training materials required by hotel teams
Brand Standards adapted to provide the security required to avoid risks of infection in processes such as Food & Beverage, In-room Experience, Wellness, Entertainment, etc.
Recommendations on employees' return to work, including hygienic and organizational measures to guarantee safety on the return to the workplace, the identification of people at risk, the coordination of relationships with suppliers, and the management of possible cases of infection.
