AIC Hotel Group has revealed a set of enhanced health and safety protocols across its brands, Hard Rock Hotels, UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊ Hotel Riviera Maya and Nobu Hotel Los Cabos.
“As our industry gears up for its return, it is imperative we take every necessary additional precaution to keep our guests and employees safe,” said Frank Maduro, vice president of marketing at AIC Hotel Group.
“Our hotel teams have worked hand in hand with local and national authorities, while adhering to globally recognized guidelines to devise a number of added measures to provide a world-class vacation experience.”
AIC says the following health procedures and preventive measures will be implemented:
Food & Beverage: Select services such as buffet and teppanyaki have been eliminated, while in-room dining will now be contactless.
Guest & Employee Health: Antibacterial hand-sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the property and signs will remind guests and staff of health and hygiene protocols such as handwashing and physical distancing. Physical contact will be minimized as much as possible, and a doctor will be on-site 24/7.
Employee Protocols: Hotel staff have received "thorough" training on the enhanced protocols and taught how to identify flu or virus-like symptoms. Employees will be closely monitored for symptoms and required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment based on their roles.
Cleaning Protocols and Sanitation: The hotels use cleaning products effective against viruses, bacteria and other pathogens. Sanitation staff have increased the frequency of deep-cleaning and disinfecting all areas, with an emphasis on high-contact surfaces.
Physical Distancing: Guests and employees are instructed to practice physical distancing by standing six feet away from other groups who are not travelling with them. Furniture placement throughout common areas has been rearranged to allow for increased spacing.
Guest Experience: AIC hotels will implement luggage disinfection, "non-invasive" temperature readings via a thermal camera, enforced hygiene and physical distancing practices in public facilities like the spa, fitness centre, pool and beach areas, and entertainment venues, and more.
