“As the safety of our customers and employees is our number one priority, Air Canada Vacations’ commitment to safer travel ensures that our ground handlers are implementing appropriate sanitary protocols and best practices for hygiene and cleanliness," said Nino Montagnese, ACV Managing Director.
"Our goal is to extend Air Canada’s program to the next leg of our customers’ trip to provide them added assurance and confidence for their well-being as they begin to dream about travel."
As part of ACV's new standards, customers are required to wear face-coverings during their transfers to and from the hotel or resort. The enhanced measures for transfer vehicles include:
more personal space
disinfectant for hand cleaning and hygiene will be available
high-touch areas in the vehicle will be cleaned with alcohol-based disinfectant between each transfer
other areas like side walls will be cleaned nightly
ACV says its destination representatives will wear Personal Protective Equipment and will be subject to temperature screening before their work shifts.
The operator says it will also continue to work with its hotel partners to "support the implementation of the highest standards of safety and cleanliness to give customers added assurance when booking their next trip."
