Marriott International is bringing an all-inclusive resort to Riviera Nayarit, Mexico under its Delta Hotels by Marriott brand – the first all-inclusive Delta Hotels by Marriott resort in the world.

Marriott will transform and rebrand the current 117-room Grand Matlali Hills Resort & Spa resort, bringing it under the Delta Hotels by Marriott umbrella in 2021, and expanding the room count to 300 by 2023.

Located on a hillside in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in Riviera Nayarit and just 30 minutes from PVR, the revamped property will feature six food and beverage outlets, a spa, a fitness room and a beach club.

"The long-awaited Delta Hotels by Marriott all-inclusive brand extension standards are now ready, and perfectly suited for conversions of full-service resorts, allowing our 142 million Marriott Bonvoy guests soon to experience this new concept," said Laurent de Kousemaeker, Marriott's chief development officer, Caribbean and Latin America.

As Open Jaw has previously reported, Marriott is a new player in the all-inclusive market. Among its more recent announcements is its agreement to acquire Delta Hotels by Marriott Mexico City, signed in DEC 2019, and Elegant Hotels in Barbados, which the company acquired late last year.
