With the Covid-19 pandemic making in-person gatherings impossible, the 2020 edition of Virtuoso Travel Week marks the first time the event will be held virtually, from 10-13AUG.
When registration for this year's event opened, Virtuoso said it received more than 1,000 registrants in the first 24 hours. Last year, more than 6,500 people attended Virtuoso Week.
In this year's online format, participants will be able to hold private, 10-minute appointments that flow in succession in virtual breakout rooms.
"Those expecting another Zoom call will be delighted to find a tailored meeting experience that enables more fluid communication," says Virtuoso.
Virtuoso has also organized a line-up of educational sessions hosted by outside speakers aimed at helping navigate a new future. In addition to 50 destination-focused trainings, there are 20 professional development classes that fall into four key categories and the virtual format allows attendees to set their own schedule:

Virtuoso’s sustainability summit, “Under One Sky,” also returns for a second year. The summit brings together notable voices in sustainable tourism for a discussion around what Virtuoso considers the three pillars of sustainability – celebrating cultures, supporting local economies and protecting the planet.
