In his most recent address to the trade, Air Canada Vacations Managing Director, Nino Montagnese, thanked the trade for its continued support and shared some of the tour operator's newest initiatives, including a newly implemented automated process for bookings with Future Travel Credits.
The operator's previous announcements include its 2020/2021 Sun Collection brochure, COVID-19 coverage through Allianz and the extension of its CareFlexPlus program.
Here is Montagnese's letter to the trade:
Dear travel partners,
It’s been a few weeks since the last time we were able to connect with each other during our first-ever virtual #ACVDreamMakers event back in August.
We are very proud of the success of the event and to have been able to host over 4,000 travel agents and travellers with the goal of inspiring travel.
If you weren’t able to attend or if you just want a refresher, you can stillaccess the platformand view the recording of the event here.
During our Product Launch we were able to introduce you to our 2020/2021 Sun Collection brochure. While our realities have changed a bit since our last collection launched in 2019, we continue to offer travellers an incomparable selection of packages in 42 sunny destinations with flights from 54 Canadian cities and over 700 resorts to choose from. This is all thanks to our wonderful partners who helped us to bring vacations back; Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, Iberostar Hotel & Resorts, AMResorts, Barcelo Hotel Group, and Sandals Resorts International, to name a few. As well, our ground handlers which helped us put in place the precise protocols for our new health and safety standards; Best Experience Cancun, Hola Tours Punta Cana, Island Routes Montego Bay and Gaviota Tours Cayo Coco.
Air Canada Vacations’ ability to begin to safely restore travel and turn customers’ dreams into reality would not have been possible without the tireless dedication of our trusted suppliers and, and of course, partners like you.
We received wonderful feedback from all those that attended our virtual Product Launches, including your satisfaction with learning more about our health and safety standards as well as our travel protection plans like CareFlexPlus, and your eagerness to have more training time with us. Know that we take all your comments back to our teams so that we can continue to provide you with exciting programs and tools.
It is with your feedback in mind that we’ve launched an automated process for bookings with Future Travel Credits. This means that you can now view the total amount available on your customer’s travel credit directly through SIREV and book their next vacation online – all without having to call our Call Centre. This is exciting news for us all as we continue to serve our mutual customers with the trust, speed and convenience that they’ve come to expect.
At the end of August, we also launched the COVID-19 Coverage & Assistance Plan administered by Allianz Global Assistance. We were pleased to be the first tour operator in Canada to ensure coverage is in place for emergency medical and quarantine expenses related to contracting COVID-19 while travelling. The plan is included at no additional cost to customers for vacation packages to select destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean. Our goal is to provide customers with the confidence and peace of mind they need to enjoy their worry-free getaway. With that said, we recently shared the news that all residents across Canada, including Saskatchewan, can now benefit from the COVID-19 Coverage & Assistance Plan with the increased policy maximum amount of $200 000 per insured person per trip (previously $100 000 per insured person per trip).
In addition, last Thursday we announced the extension of our CareFlexPlus travel protection program. Until November 15, 2020, customers can book their next vacation to Mexico and the Caribbean, Europe, Canada, and USA for travel between November 1, 2020, and April 30, 2021, and get the CareFlexPlus travel protection for free. Don’t forget, this also includes vacations to Punta Cana, with current weekly flights from Toronto and weekly flights out of Montreal that began on September 26th.
Lastly, as the crisis continues to evolve around the globe, I simply want to remind you all to continue to verify the Air Canada website for latest information surrounding government-imposed entry requirements and COVID-19 safety measures as they relate to air travel.
While there is so much more for me to share, I want to take a moment to say thank you. Every day I continue to be in awe of the unrelenting efforts and positive attitudes that you all put forward as we continue to work together to bring vacations to our customers.
Once again, thank you for all that you do.
Sincerely, NINO MONTAGNESE Managing Director, Air Canada Vacations
