Softvoyage has introduced a new tool that allows Future Travel Credits (FTCs) to be redeemed electronically through Sirev.

Travel advisors can now use Sirev to verify their customers' FTCs and apply them as a payment method.

"It’s being used as we speak with great success," Dan Langevin, VP Sales and Marketing at Softvoyage, told Open Jaw in an email this morning.

The process is simple, Langevin says in a news release. After logging into Sirev, agents click “future travel credit” (also available at the payment page) and enter the customer's basic details, including name, booking number, date of birth and supplier. The FTC is listed as a payment option. Partial payments can also be used.

The FTC payment tool will also be available "shortly" to Softvoyage customers using its Business to Consumers technology. Customers will be able to redeem FTCs directly from the online agency’s website.

“This has been a very important project for us at Softvoyage," Langevin says.

"The idea came together after several consultations with various retailers and supplier partners. It was clear early in the pandemic that redeeming these Future Travel Credits could cause frustration having to use a call centre to check and redeem. Our partners were definitely part of this process and we wish to thank them all for their help creating this tool for our industry as we slowly return to normal."
