Air Canada returned to Antigua and Barbuda on 06DEC, its first flight to the islands since MAR. Sunwing and WestJet have yet to announce resumption dates, but are expected to start flying early in 2021, according to the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.

AC passengers and flight crew were greeted upon arrival by a celebratory water salute and Antigua and Barbuda tourism officials, including Minister of Tourism, Charles Fernandez, and the CEO of Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority, Colin C. James.

“We are heading into the holiday season with increased airlift as consumer confidence is returning," said Fernandez.

James encouraged tourism stakeholders to remain optimistic going into 2021, saying, “we’ve been constantly engaging with airline partners, and most importantly engaging with the travel trade to keep the interest and the drive in the destination.”
