SkyGreece Airlines has announced that it will offer twice weekly year round service between Toronto and Budapest. Wednesday and Friday flights are scheduled to begin 20MAY.

MA once offered up to 6 flights per week in the summer period and 3 in the winter between YYZ and BUD. The service was not replaced after Malev ceased its operations in February 2012.

“I had the pleasure to meet officials at Budapest International Airport on numerous occasions in the last few years and the numbers they provided during our latest discussions clearly demonstrated that SkyGreece should be the 1st international carrier to offer direct, non stop, year round service between Canada and Hungary,” said Denis Codere, SkyGreece’s Deputy Chief Commercial Officer.

“We definitely received a warm welcome from the Hungarian Tourism Office and the travel community we met. Tourism in Hungary is definitely growing every year and the popularity of Budapest, river cruises and the numerous tours offered to discover the beauty of Hungary are definitely a must see for all Canadian travellers.”

TS is also operating BUD flights for the 1st time this summer, with seasonal flights from YUL and YYZ.
