Lufthansa is being forced to cancel more flights due to continued strike action by its pilots, including long haul flights to and from Canada.

After some 750 short and medium haul flights were cancelled yesterday, strikes today will hit long haul operations, with 84 of 153 long haul flights cancelled.

A planned walk-out for Friday will once again hit short and medium haul flights.

The action, by pilots union Vereinigung Cockpit, is the latest in a series of walk-outs by pilots in a dispute over early retirement benefits and LH's plans to expand its budget operations.

Inbound LH flights to Canada are cancelled today but YYZ-FRA; YUL-MUC and YVR-FRA flights are scheduled to operate. (Turnaround 18MAR inbound LH flights did not operate yesterday) The list full list of cancellations can be found here.

Pax whose flights were cancelled can re-book free of charge.
