V.Com Conference Called ‘Biggest Ever’ Industry Event At Sea

The 17th Vacation.com International Conference & Trade Show is currently taking place aboard Quantum of the Seas. With a sold-out registration of over 1,200 agent members and travel industry professionals, organizers are calling it the largest-ever travel industry event at sea. The numbers make the conference theme ‘Think Bigger’ quite appropriate.

“Considering the particularly strong year our membership just enjoyed, job one here on the extraordinary Quantum of the Seas is to now inspire our members to ‘Think Bigger’ through this Conference,” said Vacation.com President John Lovell, CTC.

“‘Think Bigger’ certainly also applies to Vacation.com as an organization,” continued Lovell. “Not only does attendance outpace our last Conference at sea in 2012, but our membership in the United States and Canada has grown to 5,500 strong.”

Over eight days – with four days at sea – the conference will provide attendees with a choice of more than 100 hours of classes, designed to appeal to every level of skill and experience.

Highlights include technology training, focus on all aspects of social media, in-depth reviews of all Vacation.com programs and services, supplier partner training, networking groups and Vacation.com’s trademark Power Speaker sessions throughout the week. Industry speaker and author Mike Marchev will lead seminars and brainstorming sessions.

General conference sessions will feature industry panels and special guests, including Royal Caribbean International CEO Michael Bayley. Additionally, Randy Garfield – former President of Walt Disney Travel Company and EVP/Chief Sales Officer for Disney Destinations – will be featured delivering keynote addresses in two general sessions, as well as in a more intimate “Fireside Chat.”

As with all V.Com international conferences, another highlight of this year’s event will be the Supplier Partner Trade Show, which will be held 29APR.
