
Wallace Wong
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has announced the
appointment of Wallace Wong as its new Regional Director – Asia.
“I am pleased about the opportunity to join PATA during this exciting time in its development and growth. I look forward to building on existing relationships and creating more value for our partners and members,” said Wong.
With more than 10 years of experience in the aviation and travel industries, Wong was most recently Regional Business Development Director of Asia Pacific at Travelport GDS in Hong Kong and Singapore. He has also worked for OAG and Singapore Airlines, holding various commercial and operational posts based in Singapore, Copenhagen, Denmark and Chennai.
In his new role based in Bangkok, Wong will be responsible for PATA’s
commercial and industry development, as well as bridging the relationship
between the public and private travel sectors in the Asia Pacific region. He
will report directly to PATA CEO Mario Hardy.
“I am pleased that Wallace joins PATA at a time when the organization is in its
transformation phase. His vast travel industry network and experience will be a
great asset to PATA. His understanding and appreciation of different business
cultural mindsets will bring value to the Association, and I look forward to
working at his side to develop our membership and member engagement,” said
Hardy.
Born in Malaysia, Wong now calls Singapore home. He is fluent in English,
Mandarin, Cantonese, Bahasa Maleyun and Bahasa Indonesia.
