Air Transat will fly to more than 25 sun destinations from 19 Canadian airports for winter 2015/2016, with the beefed-up schedule including 16 new routes. The airline is also promising increased capacity on flights to the South and some key European destinations during the winter months.

“This winter, Air Transat offers even more Sun for Everyone with its wide range of destinations including the Caribbean; Central and South America; Cuba; the Dominican Republic; Jamaica; Mexico and Florida," said Air Transat General Manager Jean-François Lemay.

“Adding small planes to our permanent fleet has allowed us to adjust our program according to the demand of each Canadian airport we serve. We have therefore increased our capacity on the market and our number of South routes, offering more choice and flexibility for vacationers as a result," Lemay added.

Cuba is a major beneficiary of new routes, with the addition of flights to SNU from YWG; YYC; YVR; YXE and YEG. At YHZ, Air Transat will add service to Cayo Coco.

In Quebec, 3 new routes have been added to the South program: the D.R.'s La Romana from YQB, as well as Havana and Panama's Rio Hato from YUL.

Travellers departing YYZ will have access to a new flight to RIH, as well as the addition of a flight to La Romana, while Florida will be available to Newfoundlanders with a new YYT-MCO route.

Finally, in Western Canada, 3 new Mexico destinations will be added to the program: Ixtapa and

Cozumel from YEG and YYC as well as Huatulco from YQR.

TS has also enhanced its winter program to Europe with direct, year-round flights to Paris and London, as well as Malaga; Lisbon and Faro.

TS will boost its flight frequency to London from YYZ, offering up to 5 flights a week, and increase its capacity to Paris from YUL with daily year-round flights. Weekly service from YYZ to Glasgow and Manchester is also on the program, as well as a weekly flight to London (Gatwick) from YVR, which will increase to 2 weekly flights starting in February, 2016.
