ACTA Files Comments With Competition Bureau On LH Fee

ACTA says it has filed comments with Canada’s Competition Bureau on the Lufthansa Group Distribution Cost Charge that goes into effect tomorrow.

The association says the filing of comments was followed by discussions with the Competition Bureau but as investigations by that organization are considered confidential, “ACTA has no further information to report on this topic at the current time.”

ACTA did indicate that it is not pleased with the new fee.

“It is unfortunate that the DCC adds another hidden cost passed on to the consumer in the form of a Non Commissionable Fee (NCF) or surcharge that will require to be collected and explained to your clients. As more items continue to get thrown into this ‘line’ it makes fare transparency and comparison shopping more difficult.”
