AC has announced that it will offer double-daily flights from YVR to LHR next summer. And in other news from its YVR hub, the airline has moved up new non-stop flights to BNE by 2 wk. to meet demand. YVR/BNE service will now begin 01JUN.

"Air Canada is strategically increasing its international flights at YVR with a 2nd daily flight to London Heathrow next summer in response to seasonal travel demand," said Benjamin Smith, Air Canada President, Passenger Airlines.

"Our 2nd London flight beginning June 1st will be operated with new state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, and in fact, both London flights will feature our newly designed International Business Class product, and offer customers a choice of 3 cabins of service and industry-leading amenities.”

Smith says AC will be the only airline to fly double-daily to LON next summer from YVR. With that expansion, the new BNE flights and increased capacity on YVR/SYD flights, Smith says AC is “reinforcing YVR as an important hub, connecting our B.C., Western Canada and U.S. routes with our South Pacific, Asian and European network."
