WestJet Posts Strong February Loads Despite 9.2% Capacity Growth
WestJet filled 83.2% of its seats in the month of February, with traffic up 7.7% on capacity growth of 9.2%. The load factor was down 1.1 points over February, 2015.
The airline flew a record 1.7 million pax in February, a year-over-year increase of approximately 122,000 pax.
"We are pleased with our continued strong traffic growth in February and our booked load factor for March is up year over year," said WestJet President & CEO Gregg Saretsky. "We flew a record number of guests for the month of February while celebrating WestJet's 20th birthday."
For the 1st 2 months of the year, WS filled 81.5% or its seats, down just slightly from 81.8% in the corresponding 2015 period.
