After a period of intense growth, Air Canada Vacations has parted ways with 2 of the key architects of that expansion, President & COO Eamonn Ferrin and V.P. Sales Amr Younes.
Ferrin, a U.K. native, joined the company in 2013. He had previously spent 3 years in Canada from 2002 to 2005 as President & COO of MyTravel Canada/USA.
Younes joined ACV a year later in 2014, after serving in a number of roles with Thomas Cook in Canada.
Ferrin was attracted to the ACV post by former Air Canada Leisure Group CEO Michael Friisdahl, who he had worked with in the past at MyTravel.
“He told me about the plan at Air Canada to go from zero aircraft to 50, basically start a new airline in 2 to 3 years. And they wanted to double the business for Air Canada Vacations. You don’t get too many opportunities in life like that. It was something I couldn’t turn down,” Ferrin told the Toronto Star last May.
Prior to these moves there had been a number of other departures from ACV in the past few weeks including G.M. Sales Eastern Canada Alan Zakka. No information has been released yet on replacements for the executive positions.
