Banyan Tree’s Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria To Open 15DEC
Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts will become the 1st Asian hospitality group to enter Cuba when it opens Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria 15DEC.
The property is the 1st of 4 planned hotels in Cuba to be managed by the Banyan Tree Group, and marks the company’s 2nd venture into Latin America following 2 openings in Mexico.
The resort promises ocean views from 1/2 of its 516 rooms, which include 246 Superior Rooms, 122 Deluxe Ocean View Rooms, 120 Premium Ocean Front View Rooms, 16 Junior Ocean Front View Suites and 12 Premium Ocean Front View Suites.
Other amenities include 5 restaurants and 4 bars, 2 swimming pools, fitness centre, Kids Club and a 545-seat theatre with complimentary daily entertainment.
For those seeking an adrenaline rush, 2 tennis courts and a basketball court are available for use. Guests can also take part in a wide array of complimentary beach and pool activities including aqua-aerobics, dance classes, beach volleyball and kayaking.
In the Canadian market, Air Canada Vacations, Sunwing, Transat/Nolitours, HolaSun & Caribsol are currently featuring the new resort.
Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria says it will be distinctive as the only resort in the area to offer environmental conservation activities with a focus on caring for flamingo birds who gather near a small lake by the hotel’s Fuego Del Mar restaurant.
