Air Canada will further boost international flights at its Vancouver hub next summer with daily seasonal flights from YVR to Frankfurt, and 3x-weekly seasonal flights from YVR to London Gatwick. Flights begin 1JUN and 8JUN, 2017 respectively.

"Air Canada continues to strategically increase its European flights at YVR with seasonal daily flights to Frankfurt next summer and three times weekly flights to London Gatwick," said Benjamin Smith, President, Passenger Airlines.

"The addition of our flights to Frankfurt, one of Europe's most important hubs, offers customers a wide array of convenient choices and the ease of one-stop connections with our Star Alliance partner Lufthansa when travelling to southern, central and eastern Europe as well as Africa, the Middle East and beyond.”

Smith also points out that with the addition of LGW, AC will be the only airline flying non-stop between YVR and the two largest airports in London during the peak summer travel period.

By next summer, Air Canada will serve 5 European destinations non-stop from YVR including two significant hubs: FRA, LHR, LGW, DUB and MUC, on a code-share basis with partner LH.

YVR-FRA Flights

AC’s YVR-FRA flights will operate with 3-cabin Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. The flights will complement daily service operated from YVR by Star Alliance partner LH. Next summer, Air Canada will operate to FRA from five points across Canada: YVR, YYC, YYZ, YUL and YOW.

YVR-LGW Flights

AC’s YVR-LGW service will be operated by Air Canada Rouge with Boeing 767-300 ER aircraft featuring premium and economy cabins. Next summer, Air Canada Rouge will operate to LGW from both YVR and YYZ.
