With US$320 billion in lost tourism revenues as of the end of MAY, many countries are eager to restart tourism, but WHO insists that public health be made a priority. WHO advises the gradual lifting of travel restrictions should be "based on thorough risk assessment", taking into account criteria like country context, local transmission patterns and national measures to control the outbreak.
