WTTC: Pandemic Could Eliminate 197M Jobs & Wipe US$5.5T In Global GDP

Nearly 200 million jobs in the travel industry could be lost worldwide because of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the WTTC. The group's economic modeling shows the global GDP could lose more than US$5.5 trillion in 2019. The organization blamed patchwork requirements and blanket travel bans for exacerbating the travel industry's pain.
