Many Quebec Snowbirds Plan To Shun Florida And Nest At Home
Every winter, about 250,000 Quebec snowbirds spend at least a month in a southern climate. Those numbers are expected to drop significantly this year with the continued closure of the land border with the U.S., said Evan Rachkovsky, communications director with the Canadian Snowbird Association. More than 70% of Quebec snowbirds drive to Florida. With that option off the table, many snowbirds can’t afford to fly or pay the $2,800 fee to transport their car.
