New Zealand Study Suggests Virus Can Be Transmitted During Long-Haul Flight

A case study by New Zealand’s Institute of Environmental Science and Research found evidence of coronavirus transmission on an Emirates flight from DCB to KUL in SEP. Seven people, seated within four rows of each other, tested positive out of 86 pax. The study looked at “their journeys, disease progression and virus genomic data was used to assess possible points of infection” and concluded that “at least four in-flight transmission events" of the coronavirus likely took place.
